Angela Gossow Urach
Angela Gossow was born to Christian parents in Cologne, Germany, and was the youngest of three siblings. She was 17 when her parents divorc e. Their business failed, causing additional financial difficulties. Her situation was further complicated by being anorexic or bulimic. Gossow's explanation of her decision not to continue as the singer of ARCH ENEMY was a simple one: There is an appropriate and inappropriate timing for all things. My journey began in the year 1991. My enthusiasm for living on the road was fading. Then I made the decision to take a step down instead of playing. The German vocalist Angela Gossow replaced Johan Liiva as the first leading singer in the group in the year 2000. In a retrospective of the band the founder guitarist Michael Amott named his top three songs of the trio of vocalists.
