Allison Janney

AllisonAllison Brooks Janney, born on November 19, 1959, in America is an American actor. With a professional career that spans 30 years, she's known for her performances across different genres of screen and on stage. Janney received nominations for two Tony Awards and has been presented with one Academy Award as well as an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. Janney was born and raised in Dayton and Boston by her parents got a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to further her education after graduation from Kenyon College. Janney became a television star in 1999 with the character C. J. Cregg in the role of C. J. Cregg in NBC's drama series The West Wing (2000-2006). She was awarded the award for four Primetime Emmy Awards for this character. In 2014, she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding guest actor in the Drama Series in the role of Margaret Scully on the Showtime period drama Masters of Sex.
